About
2148D has 5 members, Dulce Romero, Francisca Gutierrez, Corbin Hudgins, Jayce Dickson, Corbin Row. They each focous on something diffrent that contributes to the team, but at the end of the day they come together and work to be the best team they could be.
Build Season
During the build season the whole OverDrive team comes together to plan out what they wan't their robot to look like, what they want it to do, what their goals for the season are, and how their going to get their by skeching it out. After sevral weeks of planing, sketching, arguing, and decision making the team desides what they want to do and start getting to work. During school they have a 50 minute class period 5 days a week and, practice tusedays and thursday after school from 5:30-7:00, on wendsdays they have practice right after school from 3:30-5:00.
About 5 weeks into build season 2148D compets at leage for 3 weeks. Leage is a small competition that is open to teams around our Greenville, it is so that teams are able to practice aginst other teams and to prepare them for other competitions.
Competitons
When build season ends 2148D goes to numerous competitions around the Greenville area. At the tournaments they always try their bestto be in the top 8, that way when alliance selections come up they getto chose their alliance. Their goal is always to try and win but asides from that depending on where their going and and what teams are going their goals change.
During the last few matches they go out to scout teams. When scouting for teams they look at what teams they could pick or what teams could pick them. On most ocations 2 out of 5 of the members scout while the other 3 are driving or on the feild.
During a competiton only 3 members are allowed on the field. Those 3 members spend the day driving on and off the field to make sure everything works thoroughout the day. It is the drivers responsility as well as the coach to make sure they get to the field on time and NOT miss any matches.
Volunteering
2148D volenteers at Greenville VEX IQ tornaments every time they have a chance to. They like helping other teams such as those on VEX IQ because they belevie it will not only be helping others but also helping themself. It always feel good to know that you have helped those you could.
When they volenteer each team member does something of their own. Sometimes a few of the members multi-task and do two or even three jobs a day. Francisca ussually is the MC and if needed juges, Dulce Judges as many teams as she can in amount of time she has, Jayce is the score keeper at the skills field, while Corbin.H & Corbin.R reff the match during the tournament. It does take a lot of hard work and effort to get all of this done but they are always able to handdle it.
